A physician's struggle with recognition and value

Amidst the myriad constraints and relinquishment of autonomy, how did these circumstances affect you on a personal level, given your profession as a physician?

To be candid, it left me with a pervasive sense of being undervalued. Despite pouring my dedication into my work, I couldn't shake the feeling that my efforts weren't truly appreciated or reciprocated by those in charge. What became evident was their affinity for the revenue I generated, both directly through my clinical duties and indirectly through the financial benefits I brought as their employee.

It was abundantly clear that their admiration was reserved for the economic gains I facilitated, rather than genuine concern for my well-being or professional fulfillment. Over time, this disconnect fostered a growing sense of depersonalization and erosion of purpose in my role. What began as a career fueled by passion gradually devolved into a transactional arrangement, devoid of the intrinsic value and meaning that once defined it.
