Physician dedication can easily lead to burnout. Setting healthy boundaries is key to preventing this and ensuring you deliver optimal care. Start by identifying areas needing protection, like personal time or after-hours communication. While initially uncomfortable, learn to confidently say "no." This protects your time and allows you to be fully present for patients. Expect some discomfort when setting boundaries, but trust yourself and remember your well-being matters. These boundaries benefit you and ultimately translate to better patient care. Remember, setting boundaries is a lifelong journey, so be patient and celebrate each step towards a healthier and more balanced life.
